| Free drop shipping: This manufacturer will drop ship orders. Since shipping to OxAero is already factored into our prices and since shipping to you is about the same expense, we will drop ship to you at no charge. This is the standard shipping method for out-of-stock items and it is optional for you even for in-stock items. Drop shipping uses the most economical method offerred by this manufacturer, so the wait may be longer for in-stock items. |
| Price Fluctuations: This is an overseas manufacturer, so prices on this page vary with the currency exchange rate. Your price is fixed when you place your order. However, if the price on this page drops within a week after your order ships, you may notify us and we will issue a credit for the difference. |
The V1000 uses the latest technology for the best possible performance at the lowest possible cost.
It utilizes a precise semiconductor pressure sensor that enables this instrument to
measure altitude changes in inches, without any practical altitude limit.
Such resolution permits a fast sample rate, resulting in a variometer that is both responsive and accurate.
The user can to set the response time in fine increments, and select from a range of display and audio options.
This variometer meets and excedes all the essential functions of a standard vario:
audio, current lift/sink rate and a simultaneous 20 second average display.
Operation
Only two buttons are used to control the audio volume, display the battery voltage
and adjust setup values. With the 20 second average continuously displayed
and a warning signal for low battery voltage, no other controls are required.
Audio
The audio tone and pattern conveys to the pilot the maximum information without being intrusive or annoying.
The climb tone is a series of beeps with pitch, rate and volume that increase with lift. It's a
somewhat musical effect.
The sink tone has a fixed threshold at -2.5 kts. It is distinct from the climb tone in that only
the pitch changes, the beep rate holds constant. The effect is like a bell ringing.
The audio response is non-linear for the greatest resolution at the lower climb rates.
At climb rates below 2.5 kts, a change of 0.1 kt is easily detected.
This maximumizes the information to the pilot at times when the variometer is most important.
This maximizes the pilots achieved climb rate without visual references to the variometer for confirmation
of lift rates.
Power Supply
When the variometer is switched on, the input voltage is measured. Depending on the result one of two
operational modes is selected:
Installation
Installation of the Variometer is simple. Only a TE probe connection is required with the "T" piece and
wiring cable supplied. All wiring connections on the variometer are telephone type modular plugs.
A remote display is available for two seat gliders.
The V1000 fits a standard 2 1/4" (57mm) panel cutout.
Warranty
The V1000 is designed to give years of trouble free service. It carries a 3-year warranty manufacturer's warranty.
