2 Conductor Wire Foil-Shielded Dark Gray
|
This is a 2-conductor foil-shielded cable with tough dark-gray vinyl outer insulation. It has two
insulated 24 AWG conductors (red and black) plus a bare stranded wire in contact with the shield for external connection.
The overall thickness is about 1/8” (actually 0.115”). This cable is fairly stiff, so it is
best used in applications that do not involve movement.

|
RG58 Coax Cable
|
RG58, 50 ohm coax is recommended for radio and transponder antenna connections.
Finish the ends with clamp-on BNC connectors (below). Twist-on connectors
are not recommended because of losses that can occur at the unsoldered contact points.
RG58 coax is good for a maximum reach of 50 ft.

$0.33 (per foot)
|
RG58 Coax Cable Assembly (12 ft, Male BNC Connectors)
|
This 50 ohm coax assembly is ideal for connecting the radio to the antenna. If it's too long,
you can shorten it and install a clamp-on BNC connector (below) on the end. Twist-on connectors
are not recommended because of losses that can occur at the unsoldered contact points. For tail
mounted antennas without attached coax, you may double the reach by using two of these connected
by a BNC adaptor (below). RG58 coax is good for a maximum reach of 50 ft.
|
$10.89
|
BNC Connector (Male, RG58 Clamp)
|
This clamp-on, male BNC connector fits RG58 coax cable. It mates with the female BNC connectors
on radios and antennas. Soldering is required, but not crimping.
Twist-on connectors are not recommended because of losses that can occur at the unsoldered
contact points.

|
Antenna Coax Kit (12 ft)
|
Use this kit to produce a custom length coax cable for your tranceiver or
transponder antenna. Included are a complete 12 ft RG58 coax cable assembly plus an
extra clamp-on connector. You cut the cable to the desired length and then
install the extra connector to finish the job. Soldering is required, but not crimping.
Twist-on connectors are not recommended because of losses that can occur at the unsoldered
contact points.

Toggle Switch (DPST, Solder Lugs, 1/2" Panel Hole)
|
This is a good battery on/off switch. The double pole design makes it two switches in one.
Each side has a 4 Amp rating at 125VAC. For 12VDC the rating is much greater. The sides
may be wired in parallel to double the rating or the load may be split between the two sides.
In any case, this switch is more than adequate for glider use.
Dimensions behind the panel are 1.00"L x .56"W x .52"D.
Includes mounting harware and on/off plate.
|
$3.80
|
Prewired Toggle Switch (SPST, 1/2" Panel Hole)
|
This On/Off toggle switch is great for situations where you do not want exposed
contacts and where space is at a premium. With a 10 Amp rating, it is adequate for the
main power switch in a glider. In-line solder connections with
heat shrink insulation is recommended for installation.
|
$7.26
|
Toggle Switch (SPST on/off, Solder Lugs, 1/4" Panel Hole)
|
This small toggle switch is ideal for switching panel instruments on and off.
It requires a ¼" mounting hole. The dimensions behind the panel are
.52"L x .32"W x .38"D. The contacts are rated for 6A and
it has solder lugs for wire attachment.
|
$3.40
|
Toggle Switch (DPDT on/off/on, Solder Lugs, 7/32" Panel Hole)
|
This is small toggle switch measures only .36"L x .37"W x .33"D behind the panel
is suitable for a variety of uses. The three position, double pole, double throw configuration
makes it two switches in one, with on/off/on connections on both sides.
Each side has a 3 Amp rating at 120VAC. For 12VDC the rating is much greater.
The sides may be wired in parallel to double the current rating,
or the load may be split between the two sides. Includes mounting harware.

Power Connector, Polarized Flat (2-Contacts)
|
This is a solid little connector that's suitable for use at the battery in a glider.
It comes with 12", color coded, 18 GA leads between the connector halves. You can
cut these at any point that suits your needs. In-line solder connections with
heat shrink insulation is recommended for installation.

|
Power Connector, Polarized Plug (2-Contacts, Hood, Wire Clamp)
|
This is the preferred connector for the glider side of the glider/battery connection. The socket
connector is safer on the battery side where the leads are always hot. This connector is polarized
by having one blade wider than the other. Most people assign the wide blade to the
positive side of the battery. This connector should also be used on the battery charger too.
If a trickle charger is used and if there are two batteries, the charger can always
be plugged into one battery. Otherwise, the charger can simply be turned off when not in use.

|
Power Connector, Polarized Socket (2-Contacts, Hood, Wire Clamp)
|
This is the preferred connector for the battery side of the glider/battery connection.
The socket connector is safer on the battery side where the leads are always hot.
This connector is polarized to match the plug (above). Most people assign the wide blade to the
positive side of the battery. The battery harnass should be short and should include
an in-line fuse holder (below). This provides protection in case of a short in the main
power line to the instrument panel. Most glider batteries have spade lugs of either .187"
or .250" width. Terminals that push onto these lugs are listed below.
The main power line should use 16 or 18 gauge airframe wire (above).

Use these EMI suppressors on power and ground leads to digital instruments to reduce
electrical noise on the power wiring that can affect your transceiver or other sensitive instruments.
Both power and ground to the same instrument may pass through one core.
The impedance can be multiplied by looping wires multiple times through the core.
Each turn multiplies the impedance about four times and broadens the frequency band filtered.
Place the suppressor as close to the instrument as possible.

Spiral Wrap
|
This 3/16" spiral wrap can be used to bind wire bundles up to 1 1/2" thick.
It permits flexible routing of cable harnesses while forming a neat, protective bundle.
It twists on easily and quickly and allows lead-outs at any point.
When installed, it may be gapped for greater economy or it may be butted tightly for maximum abrasion resistance,
and greater rigidity. Nylon is used for wide temperature ranges, high resistance to abrasion
and good solvent resistance.

Air Filter/Water Trap
|
Use this filter to keep contaminants out of your instruments. Use it on your Pitot, static and TE lines.
Some manufactures recommend shipping their instruments with a filter attached to protect them in transit.
This filter measures only 1.75” tip-to-tip, 1.25” in diameter and has a pore size of 75 microns.
It fits in cramped spaces and makes for a neat installation.
